Full-time students – any discipline, 14 bursaries – up to $2,500 each (up to $35,000 per year)
Full-time students – Nutrition and Dietetics students; 6 awards – up to $2,500 (up to $15,000 per year)
Atlantic Canadian Business Universities
Full-time business student; 8 awards @ $35,000 ($280,000 per year) + honoraria @ $3,500 (up to 28 per year)
Cape Breton University
First-year students from Atlantic Canada, 4 per year @ $7,500 ($30,000 per year)
In-course scholarships – years 2 to 4 from Atlantic Canada, 2 per year @ $2,500 ($5,000 per year)
Dalhousie University
Scholarships for ocean conservation students; 2 to 3 per year @ $10,000 (up to $30,000 per year)
Third-year students in any area of science; 10 awards per year @ $5,500 ($50,000 per year)
Awarded every 2 to 3 years. Provides two years of salary support to a cardiology resident upon completion of their clinical training.
David and Faye Sobey Agricultural Undergraduate Research Award
David and Faye Sobey Foundation
Students in Honours undergraduate in the Faculty of Agriculture; 2 awards @ $4,500 ($9,000 per year)
Faculty who hold their primary appointment in the Faculty of Medicine are eligible to sponsor the lecture.
The Lectureship can be used to sponsor experts in Alzheimer’s, prostate cancer, or cardiovascular research. Up to $5,000.
Mount Allison University
Atlantic Canada, financial need; 1 @ $7,000, second at discretion of awards (approx $10,000 per year)
Nova Scotia Community College
Full-time students in Baking/Pastry Art, Culinary Mgmt, Culinary Skills; 26 awards @ $1,500 ($24,000 per year)
Full-time students, all disciplines, needs/referral based, 50 awards @ $6,000 ($250,000 per year)
Full-time student at Pictou or Marconi campuses; 8 awards @ $2,000 ($16,000 per year)
Full-time: need, academic merit, community; 3 awards @ $3,000 ($9,000 per year)
Queen’s University
Total value $80,000 - $120,000 Awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need, academic excellence, proven leadership skills, and involvement in school or community activities, to students entering first year of any first-entry undergraduate degree program and who reside in one of the Atlantic Provinces (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island). Preference will be given to students entering the first year of a Bachelor of Commerce degree program in the Smith School of Business. The award is renewable for three subsequent years provided a satisfactory academic average is maintained each year and students remain enrolled in full-time study.
